Take Me Fishing is one of the best beginner sites around. Set up for kids you will get a ton of hits from knots to the best times of the day. I could put this website and no other and you would be covered.

Kansas wildlife and Parks

You will see a repeat of this site in other areas as the KDWPT KS Outdoors covers much more then how to fish, but where, and regulations you need to know to stay legal. Also some great hand on learning opportunities.

Johnson County Parks and Rec

Camps are great opportunity for hands on learning. Johnson County Parks and Rec offers some great summer camps. These fill up quick. Check you local parks office or contact us. We can help you set up your own camp.

We will not sell ourselves out. We will try to post some videos giving some tips on occasion, but also check out YouTube there is a ton of people posting tips on fishing.

Kansas Wildlife and Parks

Here we are again with KDWPT and them as a resource. They have a ton of places from big lakes to streams to landowner shared farm ponds. Some of the smaller places are gems so do not rule them out.

Johnson County Parks

Almost every County Park has a water system and almost every one has fish. Just remember that rules apply differently in County Parks so pay attention.

Check your local city parks agency and even you local city golf course. These are usually free to citizens of the city and offer some great fishing spots. Usually the fish don't see much pressure so they are sometimes easier to catch.

Crappie.com is a great site, both local and national. Yes its mostly Crappie, but the reports are awesome and usually up to the minute on local lakes. View the forum section to see Kansas or whatever state you desire and see the locals posting of what is hot and not.

If you are a DIY person this is an awesome place. They have ready to go baits, but their specialty is building your own for fraction of price. Its not rocket science and you can do it. Visit them for supplies and tips on lure making.

One persons trash is another persons fishing gear. You can find tons of good fishing gear here and other on-line used product sales. Be careful and shop wise, but get ready for some bargains.

Local

Shopping local cannot be ignored. Academy Sports, Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas. Walmart, Dicks Sporting Goods, Scheels, are all good place to find great fishing gear.

If your serious about bass fishing and want the best tackle here is your place to visit. From tomorrows baits to clearance rods they have it all.
