Dwayne is a retired Deputy for the Johnson County Sheriff's Office and has been with Cops n' Bobbers since its inception. He is an avid angler, husband, and father.



Mark Leiker



Deputy Director



Mark is a retired Deputy for the Johnson County Sheriff's Office where his last assignment was a School Resource Officer. He has been with Cops n' Bobbers since inception. He is an avid angler, hunter, husband, and grandfather.



Glen Johannesen



Field Staff



Glen is the owner of Tracker Door Systems a local company and supporter. Glen has been with Cops n' Bobbers for close to 20 years. He is an avid angler, hunter, husband, and father.

We are always looking for good help. Volunteer a little or a lot. No experience necessary. You are rewarded in thank you, smiles, and guarantee fun.



Our history and our family



Cops n Bobbers was founded in 1992 under the Kansas Highway Patrolman Roy Roper and his family. It was a sub organization of Bass n' Badges which conducted fishing tournaments in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Unfortunately Bass n' Badges closed its doors. In 1996 the Johnson County Sheriff's Office conducted its first fishing derby in Edgerton Kansas. With the blessing of Roy, we adopted the name Cops n' Bobbers and bloomed into several fishing events a year.










We do several events a year from our Tackle Loaner Program, to Fishing Derbies, to Casting Contests. We are staffed by all volunteers from Law Enforcement and other Emergency Service, and also members of the Community. We are 100% funded by donation and 100% goes into our events.

Mission Statement



Cops n' Bobbers believes that in setting an example for the community, and getting families together in outdoor events, we can strengthen the bonds and join friendships with the community and police. In fishing we can also unity families away from distractions in a natural forum. We believe in fishing and outdoors we can learn respect for each other and our environment. Traditions of our past generations, honesty, humility, and morals at the cornerstone of our family. By example and not just words along we can lead our children and our future. ​



DeVelopment



This site was developed with the understanding its purpose to support the youth and groups for which it was designed. To promote events and services of Cops n' Bobbers and its programs. To support and promote sponsors of Cops n' Bobbers. To support and promote other Kids fishing programs. ​



Articles of Organization



1) The organization exclusive purpose is that of education.
2) The director and trustee is Larry "Dwayne" Shoop, Spring Hill, Kansas.
3) No part of the net earnings of the organization shall inure to the benefit of, or be distributed to its members, or any other person, except when authorized to pay reasonable compensation for services rendered or to make payments and distributions to carry out its purpose under article 1.
4) The organization shall remain a non-bias entity and shall not substantially engage in propaganda, or otherwise attempt to influence legislation or participate in any political group.
5) Upon dissolution of the corporation, assets shall be distributed for one or more exempt purpose within the meaning of section 501.

These articles notwithstanding any other provisions stated above. We have here unto subscribed our names this 01 day of January, 2002. ​


Identity



Cops n' Bobbers was founded in 1992, however understand that other organizations function the same and use similar names. Cops n' Bobbers stands by its name, however does not have any associations or agreements with other Cops n' Bobbers or similar name entities. We do not assume liability for any other group nor does any other group assume liability for our actions. Nor does any sponsor assume liability or do we assume liability for sponsors actions.



Social



Cops n' Bobbers uses social media to promote its events. When attending a Cops n' Bobbers event it is implied you give consent for any photos to be used on this website or any other social media account associated with Cops n' Bobbers. However any last names will not be viewed unless specific oral or written consent. If for any reason you desire a photo, logo, or other representation to be removed please contact us.



Volunteer and sponsership



Cops n' Bobbers relies 100% on volunteers and sponsorship. None of our staff is paid or accepts compensation. We are always looking for good volunteers and good sponsorship. Only with the communities help can we do events. ​
